"I think that what is to be will be. We cannot change what is beyond our reach."
Alex had to chuckle that time. <She keeps pretty mum when it comes to opinions,> he mused. <I wonder why... Ah, whatever. Maybe she just doesn't have one on this issue. It is a sorta pointless question...> So he dismissed his wondering thoughts, at least for the time being anyways.
"Sorry, I had to laugh. You're absolutely right; the question's pretty much pointless, eh?" he chuckled. "Sorry, I kinda ramble from time to time. I hope I'm not boring you or anything, I just happen to like talking a lot."

Aislynn shook her head, looking up at him. Her fingers were still stroking the wild feline in her lap, though the Lynx seemed to note that something was different about her visitor. She glanced up at Aislynn, then reached up and licked her chin gently. A smile formed on the young woman's face; she nuzzled the cat.
"You're not boring me," she said simply, looking back up at him. Truthfully, listening to him ramble was rather entertaining. Even though she still had company when it came to the lions and other felines she visited regularly, it was rare Shifter ever made contact with another human.
It wasn't her fault she was skittish, after all.

"You're not boring me"
Alex smiled, and looked down as he twiddled with his tail. “Oh, good,” he said. “I’m glad, because being boring is one of my biggest peeves, and I wouldn’t want to be a hypocrite…”
Alex stood up then. <I should probably try to figure out where I’m supposed to stay here. Or at least go find people I might know…> he thought. <Maybe she knows this stuff..> “Do you know where new people are supposed to live?” he asked. “I mean, I’m assuming that they give people places to live…”

Aislynn tilted her head to the side at the question, "The government has given each of us a house that resembles the homes we were forced to give up. If you were homeless, then they have a bunch of cookie-cutter homes gathered together. Nice, but they are all..." She hesitated, then shrugged.
"They have no warmth, I guess." She hoped he would understand what she meant when she said that. The houses weren't homes. They were carbon copies of each other, with no sort of lived-in feeling to them. It was rather depressing, especially for someone like Aislynn. The feline in her wanted homes that had been lived in, and loved.
