He looked at her, smiling back. "I was just roaming. Might go home, might not. Interesting power you got there. And earlier...when it touched my arm. I....I didn't mean to flinch like that. Just...not used to contact anymore. I'm usually alone."
He sighed, thinking. "I'm usually out more at night. Unless you want me to leave. Not that I'd blame you."

"It's fine," she assured, once he had explained, "I would have understood either way. It's not too often someone gets prodded by a random cat tail." Well, unless there was another Lesser with powers like hers, then they'd be used to it. But that was not the point.
He asked if she wanted him to leave and, to her surprised, Aislynn found herself shaking her head, "No, it's fine. You haven't done anything to deserve me shooin' you like some stray dog." She was not going to use "stray cat." Nope, not in a million years.

He smiled and put a hand on her shoulder gently. "Thanks. All the time I spent here, you're the first to actually care. Sure, I'm dark. I can even be...intense, but that's what I'm expected to be." He shrugged.
He leaned back against the wall, closing his eyes briefly. He had an almost...human...expression. And it seemed content.

Aislynn felt his hand touch her shoulder, and surprisingly didn't cringe from the contact. Normally she would have hissed or glared at the offending appendage, but she didn't. Instead, she smiled lightly, nodded up at him. Even when he seemed to drop the cold persona for a moment, Aislynn didn't say anything. She didn't want to bother him.
But after a moment, she leaned against the wall as well, back into her spot, and looked up at the sky. She began to speak again, her voice soft, "Sometimes, when things happen to us, we don't know how to respond. Others seem to predict how we're going to react, and... We can't help but fall into it, I guess. That's how some of us are."

"Ain't that the truth..." he murmured, pushing himself off of the wall after a few minutes. "Well, it was good talking to you. Though I should get going; the Antidote's hunting me like a trophy animal. Don't want to cause you anymore trouble." He smiled gently. "Hope we meet again."

For some reason, Aislynn found herself smiling back. She nodded once, then, hesitantly, reached out to touch his arm with her fingertips. She hoped it wouldn't be taken negatively. The last thing she wanted to do was insult the closest thing to a friend she would ever have.
"Please be careful." She murmured, giving his arm a light squeeze before letting her hand fall back down by her side. Aislynn licked her lips slightly, "Um, and if you ever get in trouble, just run my way. I'll eat 'em." The Synthetic winked, then stepped back. Her form shifted and changed, morphing into a cheetah.
"I'm normally in the zoo. Take care, Dusk."[/i]
And then she started off.
