The sun had finally gone down, and Negate nervously walked up to the hotel. Walking inside, he saw it was empty, but he noticed the door to the bedroom that was usually shared by his bosses was closed.
He closed the door quietly, then thought of one surefire way to see if they were here. He focused on the room, using his powers. If they were here, he'd know soon enough. Also, he'd know what they thought of him nowadays. And...that part scared him.
-----
Meanwhile, Scarab was sleeping in his room, two arms behind his head, two wrapped around the love of his life. He didn't even notice the change. He was a normal, large, Mexican male.

And you can't fight the tears that ain't coming Or the moment of truth in your lies When everything seems like the movies Yeah you bleed just to know your alive Aeval was tired. She had spent the last few hours searching Adanac for a couple members of their gang; needless to say, her search had rendered nothing but aching feet and an exhausted kitten. She hadn't expected to actually find anyone, but the fact that the search turned up nothing still tore at her heart. She suspected it was partly because she was pregnant. It was because she was pregnant that she got tired so quickly, she mused as she curled up on top of Scarab's chest. She had more than just her to take care of now. She had... God only knew how many kittens to provide for, and it was wearing on her body. But she wasn't going to tell Scarab that; she didn't want to make him feel bad. Yawning, Aeval curled up a little tighter - but then noticed something was wrong. Her body didn't want to curl that way; it felt odd, unusual. Uncomfortable. It made her wince, and loosen her grip. Her eyes fluttered open slightly, though her gaze was glazed over. "Scarab..."

Scarab felt...different, to say the least. And under his arms, Aeval did too. But he refused to move.
"Scarab..." "Que es, Amora?" he asked groggily. Then, he realized. He felt her skin on his bare chest. He rubbed his eyes. One pair of arms, his skin felt...fleshy, not tough and leathery.
His eyes popped open, feeling a sudden rush of deja-vu. "Aeval..." he said, looking into her eyes. "Could it really be? He's...alive?" His now-brown eyes shone with hope. Negate was like a son to him. Only one other ever shared that bond, and he was dead.

"Aeval... Could it really be?"
Aeval's eyes fluttered all the way open then; her second pair of eyelids did the same, allowing her vision to clear. Her blue eyes widened upon seeing that her mate was human, and she... she was human as well. Her mind flashed to the children for a second, wondering if they were okay, but then quickly calmed. It was too early for them to be affected by something like this.
She glanced at Scarab, "He... he could be." She breathed the words out, hope stirring in her heart. She gently slid off of his chest, inhaling quietly. "There's no other explanation. I haven't heard of any other Abnormal that can do this... Igs, if it really is him..."

Scarab sat up, still in a daze from all this. "That's right...there's no other way..." He stood to his feet. "It has to be. He was one of a kind. I thought he was..." His voice trailed off.
---
Outside, Negate sighed. He heard nothing, so he turned to leave. He tried.
Then, the door to the room opened. Negate spun to see a large Mexican form he'd recognize anywhere.
"Negate!" Before Negate could speak, the large--shirtless Mexican had him in a tight hug, lifting him off of the ground. "We missed you so much, amigo. We thought you'd died..." He set Negate down.
"Nice to see you too. I missed everyone, really. But if you'll have me back, I'm back. For good."

Aeval waited until Scarab was out of the room to take a moment and glance down at her stomach. She placed her hands carefully over her swollen stomach. She was, in her human form, about five months along, which meant she had a good size bump. It felt weird, odd. Her cat body was able to handle litters; this human form, obviously, could not.
Still, she hurried out of the room once she heard Scarab's voice - followed by Negate's. She poked her head out of the doorway; a smile formed on her face, brightened her eyes, when she spotted the boy her mate considered a son.
"Negate..." Aeval murmured, her voice cracking slightly. She couldn't believe it; she just couldn't believe it. Out of all the members of their gang, Negate was still alive. It made her heart swell.

Negate smiled, seeing Aeval's face. "Aeval! Nice to see you again," he commented. Though part of him wondered how they got here. In his mind, they were...well they were the best.
Scarab of nodded. "Of course we'll have you back. Once familia, always Familia," he said.
"Thanks," Negate answered. He'd explain his past later.

Aeval smiled softly, reaching up to wrap her arms around herself in a half-hug. She stepped through the doorway, so she could enter the lobby of the building; her eyes softened. "Good evening, Mark." She murmured, moving so she was beside Scarab. Her hand gently touched his arm.
She was glad to see Negate had survived; each and every member of the family that had survived would be welcomed back with open arms. Like Scarab had said, once family, always family. Aeval knew that the family's loyalties never wavered, even when faced with death or pain. that was just how they were.

He started to speak, but his eyes widened when he saw Aeval. Pregnant? Whoa. He cancelled his power, thinking of the kids. "Thanks. I need to talk to you about something, but it seems we have some congratulations in order first."
He smiled at Aeval. "If I knew you were pregnant, I wouldn't have introduced my arrival the way I did. But I'm happy for the both of you."
"And I'm happy to have you home," Scarab answered.

Aeval shivered when her body switched back; she still hadn't gotten used to the odd feeling it gave her whenever she had to go from one form to another. It didn't hurt. It had never hurt, actually. But it was just odd to know that her body was going from human to Abnormal, and she had no control over it.
"Thank you, Mark." She said, moving so she could wrap her arms around him in a quick, warm hug. Her tail moved to wrap around his legs, also "hugging" him. It was obvious she was glad to have him home, back where he belonged.

He hugged her back. He was really happy for them, his "parents."
"I missed you both so much. But...I need to get something off of my chest." He sighed, this was it. "When I left, it wasn't on my own will. I was captured. Taken to a lab. Tested on...the result...was a tranquilizer that worked on powers..."
He gulped. "My blood...my blood is the key ingredient to the N-67. That's why I waited til now to track you...I was...."
"You were afraid," Scarab finished. "No need to be. It wasn't your fault. Out of your control. Besides. Once Familia, Always Familia."
Negate smiled, wiping a tear from his eye. "Thank you..."
"De nada."
